"Over My Head" By Silvan
Judge's Comments
Knowing how disappointed you
were when you had just put up your very first Video,
"Flawed Design" about Terry Sheridan...yes it was a
perfect fit for this Video challenge. But you
persevered and came back with an equally great video
"Over My Head" highlighting Andre Marek. Your timing of
scenes and the beat of the music was right on. Great
song that described Marek's character as being over his
head and how he always had Lady Claire on his mind! I
admire your
tenacity of coming back to the Challenge with this
video.
If I could I'd give you the Red Rose Award "You did very
well my
Dear"...hands Silvan a red rose
with a black ribbon...
"He is pleased with you!

Obsession by Galena
Judge's Comments
In support of our delightful International Tarts...I wanted to nominate
Galena's Challenge OMK video "Obsession". Even though this mesmerizing
and sultry song is sung in French.... Galena is from Budapest. Being
Hungarian...She says she does not know what the lyrics are in
English....but that the emotions put forth by the singers actually
inspired and designed the fluid editing style she utilized to show Sam's
undying love. It is, to me, a fan video edited strictly by and for the
heart....and that is why it captured mine.

Johnnie's Heart by RRuin
Judge's Comments
This video gets kudos for the slideshow concept and for being a little
different. Great song choice, and excellent matchup of images to lyrics.
I liked how the focus remained on Johnnie throughout, keeping it closely
in line with the challenge theme of a character study. Very movingly
made and something a little unique from the rest. Well done!

Jealousy by DreamyViper
Judge's Comments
It is evident by the composition of this video, that each scene
incorporated was well thought out to convey the Phantom's feelings of
jealously, rage, pain and passion for Christine. The author did not
miss a chance to match up clips to the beat of the music, like when the
monkey is clanking his cymbals, Phantom smashing the mirror, and Phantom
watching the monkey all synced up to the drumbeats in the song. I
enjoyed how when the music swells and heightens, key scenes are inserted
of Phantom and Christine to highlight the passion he has for her as well
his obsessive jealously. I was thoroughly impressed by how each detail
of this video was planned so precisely with the song in mind as well as
telling us about the Phantom's character. Fantastic work! |

Who Wants To Live Forever by Dragon Slayer
Judge's Comments
I have to completely admire this first time
attempt. To jump into video editing is one thing...to jump directly
into a video challenge - that takes some nads!! If I could, I'd give
you the Brass Balls Award. Your choice of song to subject is very
good! I love this song but had never heard it done by anyone other than
Queen. It really creates a surreal feeling...couple that feeling
with Dracula, well...it just fit very well. Through the stills you
chose, and the song you used, I really felt Dracula's point of
view...the frustration he had with his own existence and his inability
to attain the one thing he ever really desired, someone like himself -
someone born, not bitten. "There's no chance for us..." - though he
hoped there was. A nicely done character video. Good job! And please,
keep up the good work!

I was very impressed with the composition of this video. The author, in
adhereing to the rules of the contest was able to deftly use the
existing transitions and camera angles in the movie to bring to life the
very sensuous nature of the Dracula character. The music really set the
tone for this video and the clips were matched and edited with
precision. This one is a new D2K classic!
